Today I had the pleasure of skiing with some of my students. As part of our enrichment program we have a couple of Fridays designated as ski days. With a fresh batch of powder and a beautiful blue sky, we hit the slopes. What a great day!! I couldn't stop myself from taking a few pictures of the beautiful scenery. The following are for your viewing pleasure!

Sunday afternoon with the family
What a beautiful, sunny Sunday in Colorado. After church we had the pleasure of having a friend over for dinner and games. After she left the 3 of us (4 if you count Hobie) went for a drive around the subdivision. We certainly live in a beautiful area. After driving around for awhile Andy dropped us girls off and allowed us to take a nice afternoon stroll on one of the many trails in the area. Despite the actual temperature outside we were perfectly content walking around in the sunshine without our coats! After a nice walk we returned home and played with Hobie for awhile. The night concluded with hot chocolate around the fire on the deck in the backyard. Here are a few highlights from our day!

The two puppies...the real and the stuffed
Hobie had a lot more energy last night! He really seems to be finding his way around the apartment. Along with having additional energy, he is becoming a little bolder as well. He is trying to learn his boundaries and is constantly getting redirected from a table leg or shoe to a chew toy or his new best friend. Deeogee (the little black lab) really loves having a new friend to play with as you can see in the pictures below:

I love my new friend!!

Not only are you soft but you are fun to drag around as well!

Let's go for a walk!!

Just chilling after a long play session with Deeogee (D-O-G!!).

Why sleep in the bed when you can sleep under it!!

Hobie is home
Our new puppy is home and sleeping under Andy's chair. Andy seems to think it is his new favorite place to catch a few z's. Hobie, the puppy has a name now, is so tiny! As they stand right now, Hobie is smaller than the stuffed dog I bought Andy last year for Christmas though I suspect that won't be the case for very long! He loves to cuddle and he loves to sleep. Right now he must be chasing something in his sleep because every once in awhile his leg and arms seem to flail about then he settles down and scrunches his nose a bit. He is too cute!! In addition to being absolutely adorable, Hobie is incredibly soft. He is so much fun to pet and watch!! Well, without further ado, let me officially introduce you to Hobie, the newest member of the Teichman family!!!

The collar on it's smallest setting is still to big for our sleepy little guy!!

Playing with his new favorite toy...an old balled up sock!

New addition...
Andy is driving to Kansas today. It seems like a random place to go but in fact there is a reason for driving over 10 hours round trip...we are getting a puppy!! Andy and a friend from work are driving to a breeder in western Kansas to pick up the 7 week old furball. He is an ivory lab and does not have a name yet (Andy wanted to meet him before he named him). I am looking forward to meeting our new puppy after school today. We only have one picture right now but I am sure there will be many more in the coming days.

Campfire!!
Who would have thought that I would come home to toasty fire on the porch in the backyard? What better way to spend a starry evening then by the light of a campfire with a cup of hot chocolate in hand?!?! I love how we can sit out by the fire for a little while then still go to sleep in our own bed at night...best of both worlds I would say!! We really have a great life!
Where did January go?
It's crazy to think that we have been living in our new place for a month already. The place is really starting to feel like home. Most of the boxes have been unpacked and those that have yet to rummaged through are hiding in closets. We have a guest room ready to receive visitors (my mom is coming in less than 2 weeks), the pictures are hung, the furniture is arranged in the living room in a manner that just makes the place feel so homey! I even had the opportunity to host a couple of groups of girls at our place this past week. On Thursday my small group from church came over for dinner and discussion. Even with 10 people roaming around it did not feel crowded! Craziness!! On Saturday I had the pleasure of co hosting a bridal shower for my friend Jess. What fun!! I love our new place and can't wait for people to come visit us!!
