Christmas Pleasures

You know it's almost Christmas when you break out the sugar cookie dough. Yesterday I spent a few hours at church making a ton of cute little sugar cookies. I lost count about an hour before the end when we had already made over 300 cookies! Today a bunch of ladies from the church gathered together once again to decorate the cookies, dip pretzels, assemble gingerbread houses, and so much more. Christmas pleasures is an annual tradition-ladies make/decorate cookies and other goodies the first Sunday of the month then they freeze the cookies and pull them out in time for the Christmas Eve services. It was definitely a fun a memorable event. It was fun just hanging out with people and making new friends while making delicious treats.

Outside of our church. The doors in the center lead to the sanctuary. The right side of the building is the "church side" and the left side is my school. Everything is connected and the church uses a few of our classrooms for Sunday School and we use the sanctuary for our Wednesday chapel.

Decorating sugar cookies-they all looked so cute!! Just like snowflakes and people, no two cookies were exactly the same!

Each table was a different station: sugar cookie decorating station, dipping station, craft station, and gingerbread house station.

I was absolutely amazed with the gingerbread houses! They were beautiful and very creative!

This is where I spent most of my time--the dipping station. We dipped pretzels, spoons (for coffee and hot chocolate), graham crackers, peppermint sticks, cookies, and anything else we could find!
