Who would have known that there was a cache hiden under that pile of rocks?!?!
This particular rock formation is known as the "kissing couple". We thought it was appropriate given that it was our anniversary!
Photo-op in front of the beautiful red rocks!
The contrasting colors and lines on this rock wall were more beautiful than cameras seem to capture.
This past weekend, Andy and I loaded our overnight bag into the car and drove to Grand Junction. After checking into our hotel, Andy took me out for a very nice dinner at the Olive Garden. I love Olive Garden!! On Sunday we called our moms (it was Mother's Day after all!) then geared up for a drive through the Colorado National Monument. It was a beautiful drive, complete with lots of red rocks and really neat rock formations. After our drive, we programmed a set of coordinates into the GPS and set out on a Geocaching adventure. About 20 minutes later we found the cache we were looking for and deposited the travel bug we had in our possession. We thought about trying to find another cache but soon decided that we were way too hot and hungry to embark on what could turn out to be a long hike. So, instead, we decided to head back into town where we went out for Andy's birthday dinner. On the way home we stopped in Glenwood Springs and went swimming in a hot springs pool. I'd seen the pool from the freeway but did not realize how extremely large it was! I was also amazed at how many people were there at 8:15 at night! We had so much fun this weekend!
