Lionshead was buzzing Friday night. People with bright orange "Be Epic" shirts milled around, eagerly anticipating the arrival of the guest of honor. After a few songs, a video reviewing her past achievements, and a short little spiel from a former teammate, the moment everyone had been waiting for finally arrived. All of a sudden cameras flashed, children squealed, and the band struck up another tune. Lindsey Vonn worked the crowd like a pro. She waved like she was in a parade, posed for pictures, and acknowledged VIPs in the crowd. After making her way onto the stage the organizers played another short clip about Lindsey and her rise to fame. As it turns out Lindsey Vonn grew up skiing on Vail mountain. Now, she has returned to our little piece of paradise in order to prepare for the upcoming 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. When she is not traveling around the world in search of the best racing snow, Lindsey will be living in the Arabelle in Lionshead. Who knew we would have an opportunity to ski with an Olympian this winter?!?

That is very exciting, maybe you'll run into her sometime and she can show you some of her moves and we'll see you in the olympics too! Any chance I can get one of those sweet epic t-shirts? :)
